Yes we disappeared last night .......... around 9.30pm ish
John was working on files that automatically correct the size of avatars on the site (as many of you have avatars that are slightly too big) but when it uploaded the entire forum disappeared!
After convincing him almost 3 hours later to go to bed and look at it with a fresh head, he went to bed and slept on it ...................... for a little while He was back at it before 5.30am this morning and managed to repair it!
Now he's off out working .......... putting up a sign, picking up a bouncy castle then off into The Lighthouse to fit more signs. I think he'll fall over when he gets home!
Anyway, can I ask everyone who has uploaded their own avatar picture to PLEASE resize it, most are just a bit too big and causes us to lose page width. John has posted a description of how to do this here
http://www.cumbernaulddogtraining.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1157
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE resize them so that he doesn't try to 'fix it' again. |

Marcella I am hoping mine is ok as it was John who put it on for me.
He is like a man possessed - staying up half the night to work on the forum, though must admit was a bit lost when it went down last night. |

yes, yours is fine too Kirsty.
He was getting so frustrated last night, it was driving him mad. He had his head in his hands saying 'why did I try to change it?'
Anyway, as a guide if your avatar is WIDER than mine, please follow the steps to reduce it. |

I still haven't figured out how to upload one. Think I'll leave it. I do not want to be responsible for John having another wasted night. I was just convinced it was me or my laptop last night when the forum was down.

Everyone....it was NOT the avatars that caused the problem.....the larger than standard avatar only looks odd because it upsets the alignment of everyones posts..........I messed up the forum trying to install some code that should have automatically resized any large avatars...........so do not worry as none of you can cause any damage to the site...........that can only be done by me! _________________ John Thomson
