I have been registered with them for 25 years, the practice has changed hands over the years - I recently moved over to Lawrie cause I didnt like the way big bob was treated the last time I took him. But I did take them back there last week to get treatment as I needed duplicate vaccination records to take them into kennals - both dogs needed treament, dodge eyes, bob ears - and again this time they were ok. so now in a quandry over whether to continue with elisa Jackson in Condorrat or move perm to lawries
They were great with my two other dogs through general maint, illness and eventually them both being put to sleep and they are great with tootsie my wee cat.
Just when I took bob in they never even touched him, just said he has a skin infection. I was raging at the time, but that is the only bad experience I have had in, in fact, nearly 30 years. |

Thanks Kirsty
are there many vets? My main problem with Lawries is they have to many vets and I would prefer to see the same one each time. Although Lawries say you can ask for the same vets it seems they move about so often that they are never there around to make a follow up appointment with them! _________________ Dogs are like Chocolate, you just can't have one! |

Fiona i use them too, they have 3 vets but again it's pot luck who you get I prefer one in particular she is really nice and good with both the animals and us. I suspect you can ask when the particular vet you prefer is on and book any appointments when they are working? |

We use Lawrie and there you can ask to see always the same vet. _________________ "It is possible to live without a dog, but it is not worth it."

I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH CONDORRAT VETS AND WILL STICK WITH THEM FOR AS LONG AS I AM HAPPY!
WHEN INCA SWALLOWED THE DUMMY AND REQUIRED TOE OP TO REMOVE IT THEY WENT AHEAD AND I JUST SIGNED ALL THE RELEVANT FORMS FOR PAYMENT TO GO STRAIGHT TO THEM!
THE TWO MAIN VETS ARE FEMALES AND SWEDISH OR SOMETHING! A BIT STAND OFFIISH BUT I STILL LIKE THEM! THE VETERINARY NURSES ARE GREAT AND ONE WHO SADLY HAS LEFT NOW I GOT ON REALLY WELL WITH!
I HAVE BEEN WITH THEM OVER OVER 10 YEARS AND NOT HAD ANYTHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT! |

We are with Lawries too and always ask who we are being offered. Most are very good though. There is only we wouldn't see under almost any circumstances. _________________ "My little dog - a heartbeat at my feet" - Edith Wharton |

Again we use Lawries and I have had no problems there. Like everywhere else there are some vets who are better than others. At Lawries there are a couple of vets that I have found to be very good, Nick Goldfinch (although sadly he's moved away) and Mr Orsi (young guy very long ponytail). The American vet who stitched Diesel was nice, but I don't know his name. |

there is a small vet practice in Bonnybridge where you will see the same guy each time as there is only him.....really nice guy can recommend as he has just operated on Bracken
could be too far for you to travel to though

I have used the Condorrat Vets for 20 years. Elisa Jackson has looked after Danny & Jack all their lives. She has been especially good with Jack's dry eye condition. When we have had an emergency I have always been able to get a same day/next day appointment. You can get your dogs weighed regularly for free, collect free poo bags, buy treats and once she knows your dog's problem - like Dan's colitis attacks I can just phone and go and collect his medicine. All the nurses are very helpful and if you want an appointment with a specific vet just ask when making the appointment. _________________ No one appreciates the very special genius of your conversation as the dog does - Christopher Morley |

Hi there,
Just wondered how you find the Condorrat vet, price-wise?
I am with Ballantyne and Martin in Kirkie, and I swear I never escape with a bill under £30 - doesn't matter what it is - vaccination / booster / illness / eating skirting boards...
Obviously if my wee furry pal is unwell I am taking him to the vet, no matter what, but it would be nice if I wasn't left on the brink of financial meltdown every time!!!

Are the vets not regulated like the dentists? |

I don't think they are Kirsty. I read somewhere before that you should shop around for prices from vets!!!! |
