Hiyah everyone, I've noticed over the past day or two that Rusty has been really quiet. Then me and my mum just noticed that he is whining when he tries to scratch so we watched his legs to see if he is limping but he isn't Confused I think it might be his back just by the way he is carefully lying down and walking not sure though. Any advice ?

not saying for definite arlene but it could be flees and he could be bitten when he is whining! take a flee comb through his coat in the opposite way his fur grows and the other way! see if you can see any eggs!

i have dealt with them in the past and they can be little pests! other than that i may be a skin irritation!

Hi Arlene,
carefully and gently run your hands over where you think he may be sore........take care incase this hurts him.if he is OK with this you can gently move his legs..........if he is sore he will let you know where.

As I say be careful as you do this.... probably best to have your mum there to hold him still....he may wriggle.

Lots of dogs have sickness at the moment so he may just be feeling a bit down.is he eating OK?

Let us know how her is.

Thanks but my dads already looked for that but it's not it. When he is going into his cage he whines because he has to bend down to get in which makes it think it's his back. He also isn't running about outside and tries to sit or lie down as much as possible so I don't know whats up Confused

I would let him rest as much as he wants for now....keep the walks short and don't make him run.
Sounds as though he is uncomfortable.if is does not get any better it may need a visit to the vet.

Vets sounds like a good idea, Arlene. Take care. Let us know how he gets on.

Very strange, got up this morning to take Rusty out and he went mental. Back to his old self, he is a lot more happy and is running and rolling about in puddles this morning so I don't know what was up with him Laughing
He is back to his mad self and is not complaining anymore Very Happy Phoned the vet though just to make sure but he said as long as he is ok just now then just let him be but if he goes back to the way he was then bring him in.

that's good Arlene. Just keep an eye on him and if he gets uncomfortable again then you can get the vet to check him out! Wink
