Our Beagle girls need done regularly. I have done them by myself. Ugh!
I got all the dogs anal glands checked by the vet and done when they were doing regular check ups.
Great Dane boys I have never had to do myself in 40+ years. Long may it continue. I am not sure I would have the strength to squeeze them and hold Basil still. _________________ Regards,

No! You are not cleaning out old faeces from the colon. That I could not do. You are cleaning out the anal glands which are at the sides of the anus. _________________ Regards,

well... there you are. Job done
Not sure Leon will ever be able to look me in the eye again.
Wasn't much erm... "juice" came out, just a wee bit really, but it was eye-wateringly honking.
Next time I am at the vet I will get them to give it the old once over though - just to make sure I've done it properly.
My stomach was doing somersaults tho! _________________ Dogs are the leaders of the planet.

He he!
Well I think it's safe to say we both need "some space"!
It's all about the bum with Leon tho! Whether you're trimming it or squeezing it! Poor wee soul!
p.s. I was telling my mum that I walked a great dane today... she was impressed until I told her that it basically involved me getting dragged around the Glen for 5 mins until I threw in the towel!!! I'm so not used to big dogs any more! _________________ Dogs are the leaders of the planet.
