Rolling in poo is common and relatively easy to explain...the dog is camouflaging their own scent with the scent of their prey or the scent of a non predatory animal........basically if you want to hunt fox if you smell like fox sh1t or a dead fox then you can sneak up really close to a fox before they will notice you which means you don't need to run as far or as fast as you might otherwise need to to catch dinner..........it is an instinct and as such impossible to teach you dog not to do it
Eating sh1t is harder to explain.....one school of thought is they like the taste! _________________ John Thomson

Courgettes in their food will stop them eating their own or other pack members. I have found this successful in the past. Sometimes bitches eat their pups' poo. It seems to be a cleaning up thing. It generally stops soon after weaning. _________________ Regards,

Great Danes are not substitute children. They are much more important than that!
