Hehe just heard on the news about this. In Edinburgh there are some people who are ' Pooper Scooper Snoppers ' Laughing They have cameras on local parks and drive a small van around. If an owner is caught not picking up after their dog then they can be fined £50 and if they do not pay the fine they face a criminal record. I think it's a good way to get people to pick up after their dogs but the name just makes me laugh Laughing

Stupid name I agree. However, if that encourages responsible behaviour by dog owners that is good.

I agree Lorna.

At the top of our road there is a small patch of grass which has about 4 poo bins and all the lazy people take their dogs up there and have the cheek not to clean up!! ( i have seen this) i would volunteer to do this if given a different name lol.
I am thinking about reporting the mess to the council Confused Would they do anything though? Rolling Eyes

Our local dog warden has the same power to fine you if you don't clear up after your dog.
For the general public, including dog owners, dog fouling is the number one concern.....higher even than aggressive dogs Shocked

Arlene,
you can complain via the Council website http://www.northlan.gov.uk/living+here/public+health/dog+warden/good+dog+campaign.html

at least with an email you have a copy of what was sent to them..........I kept sending emails and that is how we got the bin outside Westfield Community Hall.

My sister phoned the council ask to get the poop bin emptied where she lives. as it was overflowing and the kids where throwing the poop bags at each other. and she was told they would do it this time but if she called again they would charge her £15 for special up lift to empty them!!!!!

We have 3 bins which are handy given the amount of dogs in the area, but what's missing is one on the nature path round the back of the estate. I still pick up, but no one else does even when it's on the path.

Lethal on the trainers after dark.
