Just wondered if anybody walks two dogs on a coupler? I was going to buy one but somebody from our handling class has said I can get his on Wednesday. Was thinking it may make walking all three a little easier, my intention was to put Flynn and Kip on the coupler and Cass on her own lead. At the moment they walk well together but Flynn is always switching sides with Kip and the leads are forever getting tangled thought this may be a good option.

Kirsty just hooks her boys one on each end of the same lead, it's not a coupler.
Ken uses a coupler (he's not posted on the forum yet but I know he reads it Smile) Maybe if I prod him with a big stick I can get him to give you his take on it. He has used a coupler for years for his lab & retreiver successfully.

I have one that Lorna gave me, i use it when i take the girls to do their toilet and have used it to walk them to the village, i find them really good.

Plus when my arm gets tired i hand the lead to Lauren Laughing

My ONLY concern with a coupler is if you need to separate the dogs quickly...you can't.
My two have issues on occasion and I NEED to be able to get them apart instantly..just a thought

It also depends on how strong your dogs are. The only reason I keep my dogs on the one le.ash is to help me catch both of them at the same time as they jump out of the car. but to be honest its not ideal as 14 and a half stone of dog on the one leash is pretty hard going

I have one and used it when the girls were pups but to be honest I find it far easier to have their prongs on and make them walk to heel at my side. I do use a coupler when out in rabbit country to slow them both down so I can catch them easier bit it is a short coupler that does not allow them to stand very far part so they can't get down holes.

I've always used a coupler on my 2 terriers. I've found them a lot easier than 2 leashes as it stops any tangling. The dogs tend to pull a bit more than having one dog on a leash but I would assume that they would be the same on 2 separate leashes. I'm don't have any experience of prong collars, could you not use these with a coupler to stop the pulling.

I've only recently stopped using one as Tess was so much smaller than Towsie and would just get pulled off of her feet, but she's getting to the size where it should be fine.

Yes that was a consideration John, it wont be used for walking all three in highly populated places just back country roads where we rarely meet other dogs. I never take all three in areas where I am likely too I only take two at a time if I am going say down the glen. It just seems an easier option. If I really needed to separate them for any reason, I'd much rather have the option of Cassy being loose and being able to get her away first far easier to deal with two than one, and I guess I can always carry a spare lead with me just incase.
