Hello Everyone, just thought I would share the tip that the vet gave me just in case any of your babies are like Mylo and likes to munch on anything that's not food
Washing Soda (Crystals), which can be purchased beside your normal soap powder, cut open corner and leave under sink to absorb water to get lumpy. If they so happen to eat something that you know is going to cause trouble give them a few lumps immediately and they should vomit it up within 0 - 20 minutes. Be sure to watch until sick so you are able to get the object picked up before they decide to eat the sock etc again. Vet said this wouldn't do them any harm and would save an operation if they vomit it back up. I haven't tried this but the vet said they have had success stories with this method. I have off course purchased some as Mylo doesn't learn from his mistakes. |

I will need to remember this as our Kaiser is always eating something he shouldn’t. The only thing is that ones he is sick he will eat the vomit back up again within seconds cannot get to is quick enough. I have been lucky that it has always come out the other end. One day it might not thou he will be in big trouble then.

The vet told me just before Christmas when his lordship devoured a box of chocolates, to mix salt and water and give him it to drink and that this should make him sick fairly quickly.(I didn't have soda crystal in the house). Well in most other dogs (and for that matter humans) it does but not Cuthbert. Typical!! Anyway that's worth a go if no soda is around. |

First time he saw the sea Basil did the same thing, Marcella. Thank goodness he learned from the experience and has not repeated it. Hopefully Poppy will not do the same. John says we need to put a shovel and a black sack in the back of the car in case he/she does it again. _________________ Regards,

Only difficulty I can see is how do you get them to eat the soda crystals?

Well the vet told me if it's a matter of keeping your pooch alive without having to go through another operation, force there mouth open and fling it in down the back of there throat.... Am sure Mylo would do this anyway for a treat... Or he is that daft that he would think the Soda is a treat as it goes to lumps when the moisture gets into it. |
