I, too voted no, but again I think it's just luck as there is so much broken glass around, even being vigilant you can't always see it until it's too late. |

Tara cut her paw once, and nearly needed an operation as it would not heal up. Norma |

Dodge had an op last may for a large clean laceration - but he goes everywhere and it could have been anything - but it was something sharp for sure.
Posted earlier - had a German Shepherd bitch who almost lost her life as the glass cut right through to the artery - close proximity of our car and the vet was what saved her, blood spurting all over the car. vet was great took her immediately to surgery - she had lost consciousness in the few mins it took to get her to the vet |

Our old Lab when I was a kid used to get cut paws all the time, think Jock our JRT was ok and never had any and my two have never had any cut paws but I think there weight factors in that as they are very light on their feet and even when they step on glass they don't seem to cut paws, I do think bigger dogs just through their weight are more prone to it. |

Yup Rusty cut his paw once really bad and had to keep going to the vets for months and he has cut it another time but that only bled for 2 mins then stopped and he was fine. |

Yes, quite a lot of times, though I dont stay in Cumbernauld I think even our wee village has it lying around.
Pixel mostly cuts her paws from skidding on the tarmac, this paw injury she has at the moment is one of them, but she has once had a cut paw from glass. Moya has had a glass cut, Allans old dog Bess has had them a few times, again not in Cumbernauld but it shows a lot of areas are bad _________________ lurchers Pixel and Zev and whippet, Fen

Cara has cut her paws a few times on glass, one in particular was when she was 3/4 she had to have stitches because it was so deep and it wouldn't heal by it's self! She got a lovely pink bandage and a doggy boot, she wasn't to happy, neither were we! _________________ Elizabeth and Cara

Basil cut his paw the first time he was taken down the glen. It had to be stitched and he had bright blue bandages and a boot for ages.
Scooby, also cut his paws twice, once quite severely whilst down the glen. _________________ Regards,

Our dog kodi tore through her tendon because of broken bottle on grass.Jack had been out on night out and walked her when he came in at back of 1. Could not believe amount of blood loss and pain our dog was in.We had to phone vet who met us at surgery and our poor girl needed emergency surgery we were broken hearted. We are really mad at these thoughtless people who do not give any concern to animals and young children something should be done about it as we are now paranoid about where we walk our dogs.Anyway on a happier note that was 4 weeks ago and our wee girl has been given the all clear and is now allowed to walk off leash. |

I voted more than two.
Spaniels Sam and Ben in the 80s early 90s had a few pad injuries. My old Bitsa- Whisk was forever cutting his paws on glass - I wanted to buy him shoes. He once ripped off the whole of the little pad on the back of his front right leg on a Buckie broken bottle.
Danny was running for a ball once when he was about 6 months and screamed - when I got to him a shard of green glass was sticking right through his pad - that was on playing fields. I would think it takes quite some effort to break bottles on grass
Both Danny and Jack have had wee cuts quite regularly - but not as serious as the first two incidents. _________________ No one appreciates the very special genius of your conversation as the dog does - Christopher Morley |
