I was walking Rusty last night when we bumped into a really muddy and wet black male lab. I couldn't see an owner but the lab carried on running so I thought the guy we had passed a minute ago was the owner. But this morning the lab was wandering around outside my house ( Kildrum area ) with no collar and still covered in mud and all wet. If anyone knows of a missing dog let me now Sad

Is there anything I can do , phone somewhere or something ?
Never really saw a stray dog before Confused

Arlene I found a black lab down in the glen a few months ago, he had a collar and I called the number on it. The owners lived in kildrum. If it is the same dog, it does a runner all the time and the owner is constantly going to fetch it. I was amazed that the owner was in no hurry to get his dog when I called, he had been sitting watching tv.

Strange! If any of our dogs were missing we would be frantic.

Yeh some people just don't bother when their dogs go missing and they rely on other people to bring their dogs back Sad

If he's a regular run away the police might have contact details for the owner.

We regularly have a black collie cross running free around our street. We put it on the leash one day as I was going to take it to the police (as that is what I would want if any of my dogs went missing) but it slipped its collar and bolted. It looked like a new collar, we thought it was maybe an Xmas pressie as it was soon after Xmas. The owners probably thought that some b@st@rd stole their dogs new collar when he finally got home!! Laughing

Arlene, I would phone the police and the local vets to report it. If you can get hold of him then you can deliver him to the police station.

Went a walk with Rusty earlier to try and find it and we couldn't find it Sad We were out for nearly 2 hours all over Kildrum and Carbrain so hopefully his owners have found him and he is safe. Will keep my eye out though for him again Smile
