Thanks John, Marcella suggested I try chicken backs as Basil might eat them as yours don't like wings but eat backs. How do backs come? What do you think? _________________ Regards,

Chicken backs/Carcasses come in 5lb bags..(generally about 5 to a bag)
They are basically chicken frames with most meat, wings and legs removed _________________

Hi John
1 tray best beef mince = 13.68
1 tray lamb and veg = 14.40
1 tray lamb and tripe = 10.08
3 bags heart (15 lb) = 7.20
3 bags dirty tripe (15 lb) = 4.50
3 bags of chicken blocks that you gave me. (15 lb) 3.90
total = £53 76
I would also split a bag of meaty bones if anyone wants to. These would be great for the dogs but are much to large for the smaller dogs, even too big for mine some of them. I have asked Landywoods if they would split them for me in the past as it would take two ticks to put them through a bone saw but they were unable to accommodate. I wonder if we asked as a group if they would do this. Even if they were to levy a small charge, it would still be cheaper than us buying bones from the butcher. What do you think John??? _________________ "In a perfect world, every dog would have a home and every home would have a dog." |

If you go into Tesco at the town centre in the evening they have a section at the top where they reduce the meat.
I have brought them Beef, Chicken wings,pork and lamb joints and also liver. The most expensive i have brought was about £2 the cheapest was the liver at 10p a pack _________________ Happiness is being loved by 2 Great Danes |

John, could I please have lamb without tripe, please. I just noticed other posts mentioning lamb and tripe. I don't mind lamb and veg but I definitely can not handle tripe. Even if the dogs love it!
I have enough problem with liver cake.
Emma, what time do you go up to tesco to get reduced meat? I have got reduced meat today in ASDA at about 1pm. Nipped in for Poppy's lunch and came away with a shoulder of lamb for £1.30 and 3 x lamb mince reduced to 50p a pack.
Your bargains sound great. _________________ Regards,

It is easier by the tray but I can swap around so that you can have mixed trays of 36lbs........ _________________ John Thomson
