We had great weather and the area around Dumfries and Galloway, particularly Castle Douglas and Gatehouse of Fleet are very dog friendly. One of the pet shops had both food and water in bowls at the entrance to the shop for the dogs to help themselves and you were allowed to take them into some shops. A good place to go if you want to take the dog on holiday.

For those who may be interested in a dog friendly place to take their pet on holiday, I can recommend the place where we stayed in Gatehouse of Fleet, Dumfries and Galloway. the web site is: http://clauchanholidays.co.uk/index.htm
They are very dog friendly and there are a lot of good walking paths on the doorstep

thanks Jim. That's good to know. It's not always easy to find somewhere dog friendly, and a recommendation is always good! Very Happy
