James Belloved Dog Food

Hey the sports fans!!

We are thinking about getting nevis James Belloved Dog Food (Wet Pouches), and we are just wondering that since you are suppose to add it to there dry food would it be o.k. to keep using Iams or would we have to use James Belloved Dry Kibble food with it?

Please help, the mind boggles with all the dog food that is available.

Hi Kevin,

James Wellbeloved is a MILLION times better than Iams ........... if you want to feed dry if possible go for JWB or Burns, they are far superior, less additives.
There are loads of threads on here about feeding, loads of research has been done on feeding and you'll see that very few dry foods are good, big brand names being among the worst offenders.

Personally, I would say the James Wellbeloved. Because I imagine these two foods will compliment each other and balance out the nutrients etc.
You can just feed the dry kibble though... it doesnt have to be mixed with pouches. I always fed Holly on JWB even when she was a tiny pup. I just wet it a bit with warm water to soften it up.

Definitely do your research on foods though, as Marcy has said - this is the most important thing in your dogs life, and so you will want to get it right!

Where is the best place to buy JWB? Have only seen it on the internet sites?

You get it in Pets at Home, and Acron pets! Places like that. You wont find quality food in the supermarket!

We get ours from Pets at Home - £40 for a big bag. You may get it cheaper online, but as our local one is next to Tesco, we just get it when we go shopping. We store it in a big plastic container in the garage (away from the mice)

We've used JWB since we got Otto and he's thriving on it. We use dry kibble - though we give him more than they say on the pack (around 700g a day, plus a couple of biscuits).

I think you can add a pouch, you just put 40g (i think) less kibble in.

I know a lot of the guys on the forum feed raw and their dog look great on it, but the reality of our lives is convenience is key and JWB is good dog food.

I feed Rusty JWB and he loves it You can buy it from acorn and Pets At Home, watch out at pets at home though because they have buy one get on free offers quite alot.
