Shirley,
I didn't realise you had Pixel as a puppy, I thought she was an adult rescue dog when she came to you....Don't ask me why I thought that!
What a lovely puppy. |

hi Sam .. Allan here Shirl's other half....pixel was obtained for working to rabbit ..unfortunatly i had to rest up for a while due to an injury on my foot and she never really got the chance to do any work in her early years ... by the time i was fit ... she was too much of a pet and shirl's "baby" so i just stuck with the older dog who is now retired ..leaving me with no working lurcher..
her breeding is whippet X bedlington/greyhound ..... perfect for the rabbits _________________ just because yer paranoid ... doesn't mean they are not out to get you

Pixel is the only one we actually went out to buy, the other 3 are rescues, well no Misty the oldie greyhound wasnt so much a rescue, she did come from Balerno dog home but an older woman had her for a year then had to go into sheltered housing so Misty was a free to good home advert we saw.
Moya arrived when we worked with the RGT (retired greyhound trust) we also helped GRS (greyhound rescue scotland) who wanted us to take Moya as an emergency foster, she had been running in Ayr town centre and needed a foster home quick...... then we kept her
Scooby(whippet) came from a greyhound trainer whos wife used to work at a vets and took Scooby with her, when she gave up the job Scooby had to stay in the kennels and didnt do well, lost weight and condition, so they wanted us to find him a home.....He also stayed |

Hiya Alan,
I can see very well the mix now you have pointed it out lol.
The sight hounds hold a special place in my affections I love a working dog too
You would do well with having a chat with my mate Andy about working sight hound that love their mums. He spent 2 hours wandering around the fields in the dark because a thunderstorm started and his wife's favorite hound bolted. Two hours in the dark getting soaked because he dreaded going back without her favorite hound.
When he finally give up the ghost calling an return home to wait for first light to go looking again and expecting to get a night of ear bashing from his wife, he found said lurcher curled up next to his mum on the Sofa .
Been there about two hours apparently ...."he never did like the rain" she say as she ruffled its snoozing head.
you have great dogs!
