Can anyone help re-home my wee cat, does any one know of anyone who has a quiet house with no young kids and no other animals.
Tootsie is about 13 years old, she is a tiny little tortusell and looks kitten like, no one believes she is the age she is.
My dogs are giving her the life of hell.
She ran away a couple of months ago and stayed away for five days, I found her wandering the streets thin and dirty looking but when I lifted her to take her back into the house she fought me all the way and her heart was beating so hard and fast I thought she would take a heart attack. She is just not happy here.
She is very affectionate and would be an ideal companion...but she is affraid of other animals, even cats and of kids.
Please help if you can.
Many many thanks _________________ "In a perfect world, every dog would have a home and every home would have a dog." |

Aww what a shame, I know you tried with her but she obviously just wont settle
I wish I could have taken her, but well my house would be worse with pup and kitten
fingers crossed for her _________________ lurchers Pixel and Zev and whippet, Fen

Thanks Charlene.....she would need to go to a house where there are no other animals, does your mum have any.
She is a house cat....before I had the dogs she was a right wee hunter, would bring home birds, mice etc and some nights would stay out in the middle of summer...I always had a litter tray for her just in case but she never used it even in the dead of winter would go out to do her business.
Now though she uses her litter tray and wont go out, she wont pass the dogs, it has taken over a year for her to even stay on top of the beds or the window ledge when the boys are about, she used to run right under the bed when she heard them coming up stairs.
I think if she had a new home she would revert to going out to play for a while again. but essentially she is a house cat. _________________ "In a perfect world, every dog would have a home and every home would have a dog." |

Just asked this question on another thread Kirsty....
How are things? Have they settled down or have you managed to re-home puss? _________________ Staffies are my life! Visit us at www.staffies.co.uk |

Thanks for your interest.
No not really we still have an ongoing problem with bob and the cat. Dodge leaves her well alone but Bob continues to 'have a go'. Though to be honest these days it is mostly tootsie that starts it. Bob insists in going up nose to nose with her and she swipes out at him and he goes for her.
She is climbing all over me in bed at night (mostly my head). I am allergic to her and this is worse when she is at my face. But I refuse to lock her out of the bedroom as when we are in bed is the only time she has any human contact. But it is constant throughout the night she is just craving the contact.
Some days I think she is happy enough, but she has no freedom to roam, she will not go out ...and the one time she did go out she disappeared for 5 days and was fighting me when I lifted her to bring her back in.
It is a real dilemma and I am still trying to re home her. In the meantime I just tell myself that she has food and shelter which is more than some cats out there have _________________ "In a perfect world, every dog would have a home and every home would have a dog." |

I feel for you Kirsty I really do. But you're right, she has warmth, shelter and love - a helluva lot more than many animals out there have. You're doing your best for her, pity about the allergy though! I assume you are taking anti-histamines? They won't cure it but they WILL help ease the symptoms.
I could do you a swap - I'll take her and you come get George. HUGE white Persian. TOTAL bully and constant thorn in Ella's side I keep threatening him with re-homing because he can be a horrible boy sometimes but as vile as he is to the other furries he absolutely LOVES humans!
I'll keep everything crossed that things either settle down even more for you or that you manage to find a new more suitable home for Tootsie (loving that name by the way!!) _________________ Staffies are my life! Visit us at www.staffies.co.uk |
