I came across this forum by chance when looking into dog training schools within my area before I went ahead and got Kiera.
I have to admit i was a bit of a guest lurker to begin with until I bit the bullet and joined.
I have been on many dog related/animal rescue related forums before and proud to say I have now found a forum where I feel relaxed welcome and not afraid to ask questions or share my opinion without fear of either get shot down in flames or booted off the forum.
this forum appeals to me for many reasons
1. friendly welcoming relaxed atmosphere by the members
2. alot of the members meet up almost daily for walks or meet weekly at the club
3. members are helpful too one another sharing their experiences/ knowledge and mishaps that you can learn from
4 your allowed to show off about your dogs
I love to hear other peoples opinions regarding issues relating to dogs, I myself may not be able to use these ideas but it is nice to know if I ever came across a situation where it was necessary that there is helpful information out there to refer too.
I love to be open minded and will never say never to anything as you don't know whats around the corner.
please please can this forum stay this way folks and we can all be proud to say that we are members of the best dog forum out there, where people can debate without being closed off or reverting back to playground antics, as potential members could look at these posts and maybe brush this forum aside rather than embracing this place for what it actually is in my opinion one of the best doggy forums around. |

Couldn't agree more Margaret. There are so many dog forums out there that treat people as complete idiots as soon as they come on.
This only forum I visit on dogs now . Well done John and Marcella! |

ohh missed a bit out, John and Marcella are unique in the fact that they actually get out there and join in the fun, plus they are not too proud to share their own journeys with their dogs. Top class people
Shall I bring some golden straws to the walk tonight |

I like the fact that I am not discriminated against because I have crossbreeds, Libby and Star are two of the best as far as I am concerned but I know alot of people/forums only recognise pedigree dogs. _________________ Dogs are like Chocolate, you just can't have one! |

Fiona, a dog is a dog whether is be pedigree or crossbreed. Crossbreeds are very often happier and healthier because they haven't been bred to look a certain way!!! No weird breeders interfering with them to make them taller, broader, blacker, whiter whatever.
Besides who could resist StarBar and swimming Libby!
Can I just add a wee thank you at this point, to Cass for she has offered a great deal of advice on technical issues with the forum. |

Margaret,
I love the forum too and would feel comfortable asking for help about anything to do with my dogs, and probably not to do with my dogs too.
I feel I 'belong' and am part of something.
we are all individuals with our own views and If I ever offend anyone with me views - that is never my intention. - so I will apologise in advance |

Don't tell doogle but i think my softest spot is for cross breeds, i love the way that they are unique, and the scruffier the better! |

I love the way people don't take themselves too seriously. Plus people are so friendly and helpful and its good to know there's always somewhere to go for sympathetic advice. Its the first forum I've really got into so I've learned lots about IT as well as about dogs. _________________ Janice and Dale |

Thanks for your kind comments folks.
I like the community feel that has developed....people seem to feel as though they 'belong' to something worthwhile. The walks have certainly helped with this. Lots of people feel that the forum is 'theirs' and have never even attended the club yet.
Not so long ago people at the club did not interact with each other.........infact, and I am sure other committee members will agree.....not even the committee spoke to each other much except on training nights!
Oh and I am looking forward to our night out on Friday........another first! _________________ John Thomson
