Hi to all, hope to meet everyone soon. A little about Enzo our misunderstood German Shepherd, 7 months old we almost lost him but thanks to meeting John we hope with our and Enzos' hard work he will be a permanent part of our family. We managed to teach him basic techniques i.e. sit, paw etc. Since we have had him visitors have been few and far between this is due to Enzos' need that he has to be protective. We have tried socialization classes and trainers to the house. All this however seemed in vain as no progress was being made. We have 3 young children and decided that we couldn't take the chance in Enzo being over protective of the kids and perhaps being over aggresive to other children. So we contact the GSD about rehoming, which was breaking our hearts but we could not find another solution. Enzo was rehomed on Friday 24th October and we had said our goodbyes. On Saturday morning we got a call to go and collect him as he wasn't settling. By this time we where at our wits end. Liz put us on to John who came and seen us on Sunday night and after meeting Enzo for a couple of hours John had made massive progress to which now the future looks bright. We can't wait to start socializing him as I know he is just a big smooch. |

Hi Craig, and welcome to the forum, you have a handsome boy. Glad you's are giving it a shot. John will deff help you out and you will get loads of advise here from people who have gone through the same as you. There is light at the end of the tunnel. The vet advised me to put Mylo to sleep for aggression reason's, I done the same as you and contacted John. The best thing we ever done and it has really helped Mylo out. Still have hard days but now have more good days than bad. look forward to meeting yous. |

Nice to meet you - glad that you have your boy back with you!
Please take a minute to read Kirsty and Dodge's story......I'm sure if you need ANY reassurance at all that you & your boy are in the right hands now that will give you it. Blubbed like a baby myself when I read it! _________________ Staffies are my life! Visit us at www.staffies.co.uk |

Hi Craig,
it was a pleasure to meet Enzo tonight.......I was apprehensive due to what I had heard about him.......but by using psychology instead of force I think with some work and commitment we can turn things around........he is a puppy who found himself in charge of his pack and simply did not have the experience to deal with this.
little by little you will take control of every situation and everything will fall into place for Enzo and your family...the key is to set things up for success rather than simply react to Enzo......i can't believe that someone who should understand dogs better simply walked in to your house and got bitten.
I hope today was the start of a chage for you all.........plenty of people here who will offer help and advice......I am just an email, PM or phone call away _________________ John Thomson

hi craig and welcome!..............enzo is a cracking looking dog and will be an asset and pleasure to your family in no time!
as many have said before me lots of folk have had the same or similar issues with their dogs no matter the breed!
if you listen carefully to john's advice and follow it through it will pay dividends................the one piece of advice i would offer is that you all as a family do the same thing and the dog will know where he stands in the home!
i have two cockapoos with my daughter and from me right down to my four year old everyone in the house knows the rules and the dogs obey every ones orders without question............that's not to say they sometimes have selective deafness but they know their place in the pack!
i look forward to meeting you and enzo and see him socialize with other four legged friends! _________________ Cockapoo's...a little of this, a little of that..........
the perfect combination!

Hi Craig.
I have two rescue shepherds (I work as a volunteer with Liz). My white boy was a bit nuts when we got him and John, our own ceasar, has helped ,me turn him around. Most dogs can be turned around...stay positive and keep up the hard work with Enzo, he's worth it
All the very best of luck. _________________ "In a perfect world, every dog would have a home and every home would have a dog." |

Hi and welcome Craig!
I'm Lisa with Hektor, the 1 year old Great Dane who has a few issues himself! I have been having dog aggression problems with him and find John and the rest at the club and forum invaluable help and support.
I hope you enjoy the forum and hope to meet you and the gorgeous Enzo at some point. |
