They're lovely dogs. We used to live near one. He was a guard dog and a family pet. Really good with children. If you love them I'd say get one. Just make sure you find out about their needs. They are very intelligent and need to be kept busy or you'll have trouble. Just like collies. _________________ Janice and Dale |

hi Stephanie
best thing to do meantime is to find out as much about the breed as you can and see if this breed of dog will fit in with you life style as you can't go on looks I'm afraid
good luck with your research

Hi Steph,
I think because you are well used to having big dogs like Daka around you fancy having a big dog of your own when you are older?
I think Dobermans can be great if you can give them lots of excersise and training to keep them happy
Enjoy the last day of your summer holiday tomorrow! _________________ John Thomson

When I was small my uncle used to breed Dobermans and they were all a big bunch of softies, my mum has a pic of me sitting on Leo, a massive male Doberman, like a horse and pulling his ears! I was only about 3 at the time, he just sat there and let me do it.
I really like the breed but like everything else they have a bad rep because of silly owners!!! _________________ Dogs are like Chocolate, you just can't have one! |
