My daughter Emily just texted me.......she has secured a place on a World Challenge 5 week trip to Central Africa during Summer 2010.
She went trekking in Morocco last year and was desperate to do this trip as well........it is a working trip with very few creature comforts........the World Challenge staff are not there to moly coddle them.....only to stop them making any dangerous decisions.
A big part of this is that the teenagers are encouraged to raise the funds themselves.........and be as inventive as they can doing this.
Knowing that I have a phobia of heights Emily has suggested I absail from the top of The Falkirk Wheel in April.......would anyone consider sponsoring me for that?

Good on you Emily - hope you have a fabulous time
John.....will you be setting up an online sponsorship (such as they do for Race for Life/Breast Cancer Awareness etc)? If so please tell me the details and I'll ensure our forum hosts the link for you and I can also pass the address round work for you _________________ Staffies are my life! Thanks for all your support...........I will look into setting something up online if I can.........the breast cancer setup is ideal but unique to them.
She will be spending most of her time in Uganda with a climb up a mountain which actually takes them across the border into West Kenya as they reach the summit.
Here is a link for newer members on the forum to the photos of her last trek in Morocco http://www.cumbernaulddogtraining.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=1689&highlight=morocco#1689
so proud that she has the bottle to do things like this..........she wants to take the group that are going for a sponsored hike up Ben Lomond or Ben Nevis..........as training ....that's my girl!
