Can't speak for what it's like up there Ross but I got up extra early today in anticipation of a difficult journey.... it was too bad to travel - roads were chaotic vehicles skidding all over the place like those clips you see from America on You Tube Twisted Evil. My travel into Durham for work all consists of single lane country roads that were impassible in places so we came home.

Apparently around lunchtime the snow ploughs managed to find our village (usually they bypass us Rolling Eyes ) but all they succeeded in doing was pushing the snow about not clearing it and only then on the main roads, our estate is a nightmare to try and get out of. It's still coming down fairly heavy, it's been fairly constant all day with the odd half hour break - the sky is completely white so it looks like we have lots more to come. I only like snow to look at from the comfort of a snuggly house Very Happy travelling in it and worse in the aftermath when it has turned to slush and even worse frozen over is horrible!

We've got a minimum 8 inches depth all over here. Main roads and higher ground is hit even harder and it's still coming down Shocked

I have no idea how much we'll have by morning but if we keep having the amount of snowfall that we have had in the latter part of today I expect it could be anything up to 2 ft deep. Only way out then would be skis or maybe a sledge - neither of which I have. Sad

Bobby and Clyde love the snow. They had never seen a snowman before and were going mental at the back door thinking there was someone out there. Once they got out Clyde thought it was a giant lolly and started eating it. Who said collies were smart lol.
