Have you seen Slumdog Millionaire yet? Putting aside all the awards and hype (as I never trust the 'machine') I was dragged along to see this last Sunday by a few friends.

I had no idea what the movie was about and about 30 minutes into it I decided it was not my type of film, but I can honestly say by the end of it I was emotionally stunned. An amazing film, with what seems like an odd story, with a stunning insight into life for an India Slumdog child.

Now, I am the first to say I have no heart and only a swinging brick, but I confirm I cried three times during the movie. It is very thought provoking and features a lot of social depravity and degradation.

Anyone else seen it?

yes I saw this film a few weeks ago...like you I never believe the reviews

I think it is excellent, tackles hard issues but in a non sentimental and non sensationalist way and still manages to be uplifting and a great watch

We went to see it having had a miserable experience at the 7pounds Will Smith movie. Worked the entire plot out 10 minutes into the film, and then just sat and watch it unfold. Coming out of that at the same time as Slumdog and seeing the audiences faces thought we would see that too. Not disappointed. Emotional rollercoaster from yukk at outdoor toilet scene to peeping at maiming scene to willing the correct answers. RIght good film all in all.
