Can someone please tell me if there is a discount available for Burms complete food from ScotPet in Kirkintilloch? I am going to try Cuthbert on it because Chappie is not suiting him any more. Thanks.

I believe there is a discount, or at least there used to be.
Its a bit expensive if I remember correctly, and isn't as readily available as some others although I know it gets a good name. Tikka has always been on JWB and it is a bit easier to get in most shops. I,m sure its a bit cheaper and from what i gather just as good a recommendation!?

I have neve. used Burns, but hear its a good make. I used to used James Wellbeloved which is a good food, but was advised to change from the Border Rescue Centre in York after a working holiday there. We now us Dr.Johns Silver as it is a slightly lower protein level for collies that don't work or do agility etc. Plus there is a huge difference in the price also. They have different grades depending on the dogs needs. I have a friend at work that has working spaniels for shoots etc, and he feeds the sliver also. There are a few stockist and you can find them on their web site.

we were advised to look at Mollys feed as she was abit hyper, so we have been looking into protein level in dry food, and were thinking about JWB, whats the protein amount in the one you use, and is it easy to find locally.

You can get JWB at Pets at Home...we buy big bags and keep it in a plastic tub in the garage.

I don't know if it reduces being hyper - only 10k bike rides do that for my boy, but we feed him turkey or duck with rice. He gets very little apart from that - maybe some chicken, rice or veg left overs and only cheese or meaty stripes for training.

He's had this since he was a puppy and has thrived on it and has only rarely turned his nose up at it after he's had some real chicken and thinks he's too good for dog food. He usually changes his mind when it becomes clear it's that or go hungry.

I don't suffer fussy dogs gladly - so evil. The lamb gave him the runs, so worth getting some sample packs from their website and try it out.

Sandra the Dr.John silver dry food is 18% protien and the gold is 20%. There is a list of stockists on their web page. I get mine near Larbert as I work near there so easy for me.
I get a 15kg bag for about £8.00. Compared with Burns and JWB at around £43.00 for a 15kg bag. The quality is every bit as good as I used to use the JWB food.
