Will not be on the menu as of next month..

Can't say I am happy with that as I order meat mix...

Apparantley there is still a shortage on red meat but Janet is "hoping" to have it all in.

Im kinda running out of options then.

the last order I had with lamb and tripe mix, my boys would not eat it - I put it down to them over 3 meals. It was pretty pittiful watching them trying to take a mouthful then walking away. We always get lamb and tripe and they normally scoff it.

This time I got a tray of lamb and I thought it looked a bit light in colour and thought oh no this looks the colour of the lamb in the lamb and tripe mix....sure enough they will not eat it they have both walked away from the bowls at lunchtime....my dogs are not fussy eaters they will scoff mostly anything.

Is anyone else having problems with the lamb!

if the tripe is now gone, my boys are on to the beef, they will eat the chicken but not enthusiastically......

Does anyone get any of the other mince options, what do your dogs like?

koda and luna both used to eat lamb and tripe, but refused to eat it a couple of months ago, like you i watched them take a mouthful then walk away, lasted about a week, the still wont touch the lanb just now. they will think about the chicken if i mix it with the tripe, but if the bag of tripe is going then i am screwed as they only eat things if it has tripe mixed in it( they used to never touch it, go figure Smile )

cant touch the beef, to rich for Koda stomach, not pretty Smile so i dont know what to get. i was mixing cheap sardines in brine and oil from asda into their meat a few times, they seemed to love it, and made their coats shine Smile

luka will eat anything put down to him so sorry guys no ideas

is it not only the washed tripe that is off the menu, so the tripe chenks and tripe mixes will still be ok, correct me if ive picked it up wrong

the mixed meat being off the menu is a problem, cause I cant afford the best beef and the lamb then together and the economy mince was just yuck, tho im sure luka ate it ok

I usually get lamb, mixed meat and chicken with tripe 1 month then the next I only need 2 trays so usually either take the lamb or the mixed meat off

Luka goes through about 2 1/2 bags but i use it for the cats at times too and the rest get a wee taste in their meals

I don't think anyone on here has ever ordered washed tripe? Always 'dirty tripe'

I do however order a lot of mixed meat mince

Do you think the meat mix will just be a short term thing or is that it off now for ever...help, Louise do you know Question

How do you get a shortage of meat Shocked are we using less ourselves as a country because of the money tight times just now or is it something else?

Sorry everyone...been working nights and sleeping days!!

The WASHED minced tripe and meat meat mix is being removed from the menu totally..

The ordinary tripe (along with, lamb & tripe, chicken & tripe etc) will still be on the list..

The tripe supplier has changed over the last wee while, the only problems I have had with the lamb is that sometimes its too rich for the dogs...

Meat shortages occur if the slaughterhouses have other orders to fulfil..without the same amount of animals coming in.. )credit crunch could mean farmers are holding off with their animals until the price goes up..or selling elsewhere for more money..

Previous shortages have been thru foot & mouth and strangely..due to a lot of meat being shipped to china for human consumption..

The lamb has been ok for us just now, but not sure how Luka would be on it constantly, just need to see how it goes and what else I can mix with it

Thanks Louise, I just wondered if we were using less meat because of the credit crunch, not in this house lol, tho we can get game but not as much at this time of year
