Welcome aboard Janet & Zeus - he's LOVELY!!!!

John will be a great help to you with the dominance issues as I am sure will Lorna - she's fantastic with Danes - you should also be able to swap stories with Lisa & Colin as regards Hektor - I am very fond of that big man albeit from a distance - I'm sure you'll be swapping stories and support before long and keeping each other entertained.

I'm Jackie but known as Jack to all my friends and the 3 beautiful dogs in my Avatar are my babies : Ella (aka Cowbag) Rosie (aka fat piglet) and Sykes (aka Stinker). The girls are Staffies and my Sykes is a XStaffie rescue boy. ALL are utterly adorable to me at least (and of course I am completely unbiased! Rolling Eyes Laughing ) and are a FANTASTIC pack. My Ella is the Alpha and the one I watch most carefully, she doesn't do great with other dogs but so long as they stay a respectful distance away she doesn't bother with them at all - if they don't stay a respectful distance away then I step in and ensure they can't come to any harm. We're working on her issues but it's a long process with my little Madame Wink

Hello there Jack, Ella, Rosie and Sykes,

Thank you so much for your welcome Very Happy . It is so good to see such happy wee staffies, I so love the breed and saw a horrendous number of the wee guys in the pound. Absolutely heartbreaking. If only I could have brought them all home Crying or Very sad. Had I not come home with my big fella I was going to adopt 2 staffies myself so i do indeed share your passion for the we tootsies Wink .

It will be so good to meet you all eventually, I don't get to mix with many other owners as I tend to walk the big guy very early and when it is dark in the evening due to work. Maybe this is part of the problem Confused

It is good to hear you have issues with yours too, if you know what i mean. It's great this it is almost like a support group for demented owners Laughing

Ooooooooo I DO hope Zeus becomes a VERY good boy then maybe he could get a Staffie playmate! Very Happy

Just ask LIsa & Colin - Danes and Staffies CAN mix very nicely indeed Wink

Sadly as I'm in Durham I don't get to meet all the great people I chat to on here but one day I most certainly will Cool

Liked that quote! Thats what I feel like too!

As Jack said we have Hektor, a 2 year old black Great Dane and Millie a 5 month old red and white staffie. They get on fantastically well but Hek does have problems with other dogs especially when he is on the lead. He is 65kg at the moment and can be quite a handful when he gets going. I use a 'Gencon' figure of 8 headcollar (which I find brilliant for stopping him pulling me over) and have just ordered a muzzle to start re-socialising him with other dogs safely.

Your big lad is gorgeous and I hope to meet him at some point (tho maybe not with Hek in tow... Sad )

Lisa

Danes and Staffies CAN mix very

Sorry about that, she's obsessed with the Staffordshire's....
however Cats is also a good animal that you can mix with dogs, they are lovelly and don't have all the hassles of owning a dog Very Happy

so, I am Dave, I live in North Devon and I am the odd-one out as I dont have a dog!.. i have cat called Tara and friends with John and the others here.

OMG - I can't believe the Rowland is apologising for me!! Rolling Eyes Laughing Laughing Laughing

I am unashamedly obssessed with them and quite happy to admit it so no apology necessary. These cat only people just have NO balance in their lives whatsoever! Wink Very Happy
