My friends dog has developed an allergy to something and the only thing that helps is steroids from the vet. She is a wee bit worried (as is the vet) about long term usage. Does anyone know of any homeopathic web sites for dogs? Or can anyone suggest another option. They have tried anti-histamines from the vet but they didn't work. |

how old is the dog and what is it being fed on. the most common allergy seems to be the the wheat in the dog food. _________________ microchiping and grooming www.chipnclip.co.uk

My fist thought is the same as Kendal.......food and in particular a reaction to additives.
A switch to an additive free commercial food or even a raw diet ( although the vet would probably not condone that ) would probably help.

If the dog is really itchy you cud get a pair or tights put a cup full of porridge in them and put the tights under the tap wen ur running the bath the water will go milky. Squeeze all you can out of the porridge and bath the dog in the milky water its great for soothing itching and might give the dog some relief. Hope it gets sorted soon. |

Passed on the tips to my pal. She said thanks. Bailey her dog is on Royal Canin, it came with him from the breeder. I suppose you can become allergic to anything at anytime. |

Burns and James Welbeloved get a good name for their lack of preservatives.

you could also try raw.............pay a visit to the local asda/tesco.......and pick up the cheapest value frozen mince.......try it for a few weeks and see what happens..............you'll also discover less poo out the other end!! _________________ Cockapoo's...a little of this, a little of that..........

i have to feed luka raw, if i miss a few days cause im too lazy to defrost it, it only takes 2 days for him to be scratching and comes out in all these wee red pimples under his tummy
i would feed them all raw if i could afford it, but the other 3 get greyhound food and do ok on it.
i would need about 6/7 bags of raw per day for 4 of them _________________ lurchers Pixel and Zev and whippet, Fen
