Have you ever watched those wildlife programmes where the killer whale throws itself onto the beach to catch the seal?

Well, my kitchen worktops are the beach and any morsel of food is the seal and no prizes for guessing who the bloomin killer whale is.

He's getting better, he gets OFF!!! of his own accord now without us wrestling him to the floor but it does take a few times for us to say.

it's starting to rip my knitting as they would say.

I'm sure it's really not a problem for most of you, however need some advice from those of you with pups of size.

again, any advice would be gratefully received.

Frankie the easiest way to cure this is to set him up

Go to the pound shop and buy some mousetraps .......set them up on the worktop and place some food behind the row.

When he goes up he will set them off and get the fright of his life........should cure his desire to climb up there though.

The description of Huey as the killer whale is hilarious. I am wiping the tears from my eyes. I laughed so much I woke Teddy. I can see it coming here too, though. Teddy us VERY interested in what is above his head, i.e. on our table, and is learning to jump higher each day.

I used to rattle a bottle filled with stones in it which he got a major fright from, he's a bit cheekier now and doesn't give a monkeys.

Hilarious!

I feel your pain! Hektor nearly blew us up a couple of times in his first year trying to get to the cat food on the worktop and inadvertantly turning the gas on on the hob. He now has no access to the kitchen when we are not there resulting in an obsessive compulsive husband! Every journey begins with "Did we shut that kitchen door??" and sometimes phoning Ross to go down and check.

His manners have improved but sometimes the temptation is just too much and Colin will only get 3 bits of toast instead of 4!

I think the mousetraps are a great idea or we use a skooshy bottle (he hates water).

hi there, i have had this problem with my two also, zac still occassionally does it.

zico stopped after he got his leg caught in the cupboard handle and got stuck, he howled for ages after that, poor soul. but he has never jumped up since.

with zac, i layed backing trays along the edge so that when he jumped up, he toppled them causing them to crash to the floor making a huge noise which he didnt like.

worth a shot, zac does still jump up, but not often

Still trying to get a hold of some mousetraps. poundand in town where i work didn't have any so will try up the town centre.

He's not scared of much (apart form not getting his dinner)so fingers crossed for the traps. it's either that or an air horn
