Hi,
Sorry we missed Thursdays class-both David and I were working at the election.
Dexter sometimes gets puppy sat, such as on Thursday, or when David and I are working late and we're looking for a bit of advice on how to make this a bit easier for everyone.
The feedback we get is that he behaves for the most part but tests the boundaries of sitting on the couch, mouthing, stealing etc and won't really settle properly for a nap. He also won't let the puppysitter leave either (puppysitter being my mum, aunt or cousin).
Is there anything we can do to make it a bit better? He does get puppysat quite often so it isn't a new experience for him anymore. He obeys our sitters out on walks for recall etc and seems to bond well with them.

He can be quite distracted and, although will eat and would not refuse treats, he won't settle to eat his kong for more than a few minutes, then he'll have a rummage about then go back to the kong then move about and so on.
He won't let them leave him in our house alone. Like when my mum comes to give him his dinner and let him out he wont stay to let her get out the door he'll just follow her and its a small battle to squeeze out a tiny gap in the door so he doesn't escape! Whereas when we go out he accepts a chew, takes it to his bed and lies quite happily while we leave. |

what happens if your in the house and you mum leaves does he bother about that. has she tried putting him in a stay, sit, down or even in his crate with the door open or even a mat on the floor.
have they tried using his curiosity by hiding treats round the house or just one room and sending to find them. _________________ microchiping and grooming www.chipnclip.co.uk
