flee tablets

this is probably something to ask a vet about but i was wondering if you can make you dog ill by giving it flee tables when it doesn't have flees.

my mum got flee tablets when getting there worming tablets to prevent flees but we think it has mad them a bit ill as they have been throwing up. I'm guessing that if it is the tablets then they should be right as rain by tomorrow morning. but i am a little concerned because it is the only thing that has been different for them today.

as a precaution we are planing on starving them tonight in case it is not the tablets. Sad

No. It is always wise (I think) to protect the dogs from both.
I always use products from the vet as they are more effective than stuff you normally buy from supermarkets etc.
I tend to use advocate for dogs (obviously) but frontline is also good. There are many types to use. Smile

What type of tablets were they?

i think my mum got them from the pet shop. it was the Johnson's 4fleas tablets.
are there different types of tablets depending on whether your dog has fleas or if you want to prevent them from appearing Confused

I would personally stick to flea and worm treatments from the vet. They are a bit more expensive but much more effective. This is why it has to be a vet that you get them from.
The flea treatments that come in a droplet form (for the back of neck) are really effective.
