OMG!!! Talk about panic!

Lying on my bed last night reading a book..Alex is out the back pottering about with horsebox and then I heard this almighty screaming!!

I thought the dogs had caught a cat!..So I opened the window and asked Alex whats happening..he says they got a weasel!!

He dragged the dogs in and I went out to investigate and there sitting under the caravan was a very shocked heavy breathing polecat/ferret..

I ran back in and phoned a mate who keeps ferrets and he told me to catch it..LOL (ehhh its got teeth!!!)

So the upshot is..I had a ferret sleeping in a cat basket in my sons room last night!!!!
Its not got a mark on it..(good dogs )

It survived the night and has ate all night!! chicken, tuna, corned beef!!

He is now in the shower LOL..We have a double shower unit..so thats his makeshift cage for now..he has a litter tray and a bed (handy having horses!) half of the cat carrier full of hay..and a cat food dish with chicken and tuna in it..

he has eaten, drunk water..peed and pooed..so I think he's going to fine!

I held him and he made some funny noises but never bit..he's sooo cute!!!

Just off out to check pet shop windows for notices, then going to cut a bit off a tree to give him something to play on..

Here's Chucky (Lucky Chucky)

OMG - he's GORGEOUS Louise!!!! Smile

Looks well cared for and obviously he is or has been someones pet as he's good natured and used to being handled. I would drop notes through people's door in your area too asking if anyone's lost him - they may come forward - they may not visit pet stores - especially if he's their only pet Confused Also let local vets know & RSPCA - someone may have reported him missing.

What will you do if noone steps up - will you keep him? I'd be sorely tempted, he's lovely. XxX

Aww he is lovely. Looks a wee bit lean to me at back end but he may have been out for a few days or maybe my 2 are wee fat boys Very Happy

I think you need to keep him, ferrets are fun pets. he will also be fine on some of your raw food but i usually supplement with dried ferret food as we dont get as much rabbits and pigeons now, but if you do get anything they prefer wholw lot, bones fur and feather lol

I am sorely tempted to keep him!! he's very cute..

BUT Alex says no LOL..like I would listen to him anyway..

Seriously though if I don't find an owner..he will be going to a great home where he will be used for what they are meant to be used for..In fact..he will will be going to live with Katrina & Stuart....MOREGIN on here..

It was Stuart I phoned last night in a blind panic LOL..(probably thought I had finally lost it!)

He told me to catch it..and feed it raw (dog) food..LOL good job I know a fabulous coordinator of such food (ROFL!)

HE is currently curled up sleeping in his comfy hay bed..and now has a couple of branches and some toilet roll tubes and a tennis ball to play with..(me thinks I am getting toooooo attached)

I think he is quite skinny too..but I also think he may still be quite young..

I haven't handled him properly..still wary of those teeth..But I did lift him and move him and he never struggled

He is cute. If his owner isn't traced, it is good he is going to a good home. If you can part with him...
