What a brilliant topic. I am very particular about what I feed my dogs, a bad diet can mean lots of problems and trips to the vet. My dogs are very, very rarely at the vets, I think that down to quality food
I have 10 dogs - 1 under age 1, 2 under age 2, 1@ 4,1@ 6, 2@11, 1@ 13 1@ 14, 1 @ 16.

I feed holistic nutrition, a complete natural dry dog food, chemical, additives and GMO ingrediants free from Luath's (Burns). I use 15 kg per week which works out at around £120 per4 week month, thats £12 per dog.
Which I think is superb value.

Very Happy Its has all natural ingredients which means all my dog thrive on it. In addition my agility dogs get a supplement which help keep bones and joints in good working order and prevent injury. Smile

I would definately choose quality food over anything else, means less poop for one.

£ 29.82 on Nature diet per week and £14.98 on Burns mixer every 2 / 3 weeks, then you can count in the miscellaneous pigs ears venison chews stuffed hooves per week.
when I fed raw I was about the same as John.

Parson Terrier bitch (age 6), male standard schauzer(age 13), border/ beardie collie cross(age11), a lurcher(age 1 1/2)
Very Happy I think thats them all, Just as well I am good at counting.

Whew Carol - you must be fit to exercise them all - do you all go out at the one time.

How do you balance the exercise needs of your younguns against your golden oldies.

Hi Kirsty, I'm not sure about my fitness, as I also do cakes & chocolate. I walk all the dogs in the fields in the morning. The older (14 & 16) dogs are still fit enough to wonder round, they sometimes have a sprint and joint in a run around with the others. Thats the only time they are all together on a walk. The
others under 11 get forrest walks, couple of times a week but on the whole its agility training that keep them fit, in both body and mind. I give them all individual time with me every day, to keep me in top position. All the dogs have been trained in agility, I think thats one reason the older dogs
are still fit and healthy, although I retire them around 10/11 years old.

Mishka is around £40.00 per month for Royal canin German Shepherd 24. Although it lasts a bit longer when she goes through a non eating period Confused

Yip. We have tried her on many types of food but to no avail Rolling Eyes

Not wanting to appear noisy, but what happens to make your dog not want to eat? Is it stress related? Sorry for the questions, I'm just extremely interested study in all that sort of stuff. Coincidentally a girl at agility training tonight said exactly the same thing. Confused scratch

Lhasa Apso, Age 2.5 Years.

2 large tins of Chappie per week: 67p x 2 = £1.34 p/w x 4 = £5.36 p/m
Bag of frozen mixed veg: £1.29 usually lasts for a month
bag of fresh pasta does about 2 weeks, so two of them: £2.18
Box of Markies Trios £1.34 for a wee snack / treat
= £10.17 per month

Other than that he gets a wee bit of chicken if I am making it for our dinner and any spare raw veggies (brocolli / red pappers) that are left when I am cooking dinner... And i think Steven usually gives him a wee bit of square sausage on a Saturday morning (tut tut!)
