I always thought that police puppies were trained by their handler from around 8/10 weeks old
( obviously rescuse are not included in this).
I can remember watching a TV series years ago about police puppies and by analysing each puppy they could tell which would graduate at 18 months as the best police dog _________________ John Thomson

I thought this also John, but there you go, maybe its just strathclyde that are trying this.
the adopters do have to bring the dog up to basic training level, they have to crate the dogs and follow strict instruction re feeding and car - obviously to make the transition at the other side easier on the dog.
Anyway, cant wait to see the puppy when it arrives |

oh no
I dont think so Marcella, I think raising a puppy is fab but also hell, and I dont see the point of going through the pain for someone else to reap the rewards of all my hard work. |
