As most of you know I feed raw.....including chicken.......so watching with interest what will happen with bird flu..........my first thoughts are that wild birds could be more of a problem than human grade poultry? _________________ John Thomson

the problem with poultry is that the conditions they are usually kept in are quite cramped and often contain thousands of birds so it would spread very very quickly compared to birds in the wild. a scary thought! _________________ your cat will never annoy by barking at 3am, he wont attack the postman or eat the curtains, although he may climb them to see how the room looks from the ceiling... |

Our chickens seem to be alright, next year think we will get more for us and the dogs not just us
Though it is worrying when you keep birds, poultry and parrots, our chickens are inside at the moment, have been for about 6 wks so hopefully they will be fine but i worry now about pulling grass for them, they love it but what if a wild bird has it, and infects my grass, not sure if it can carry that way or its just airbourne _________________ lurchers Pixel and Zev and whippet, Fen

I think it's an airbound virus so you'd only catch it if you were living in the chicken coop.
I certainly won't stop eating chicken or turkey or giving the dog some, plus cooking it kills off the germs (not feasible on a RAW diet I know). |

The bird flu stories really worry me.... my imagination just runs wild... so I try not to think about it to be honest.
I eat chicken all the time, and don't know where I stand on my decisions on that at the moment.
Having steak tonight though... so.... _________________ Ashley with Holly & Murphy.
