Buy a cage and every time he starts to chew the walls put him back in it. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

sorry samantha but i have to disagree! the cage/crate should not be used as a punishment! it is to be used as a sanctuary!

if jaws starts to chew and you catch him certainly reprimand him with a correction! but NEVER use the crate as punishment!

I would definitely agree with a crate!

Not as a punishment but as a place that the dog can go to whenever it chooses but for the dogs safety and your sanity if you have to leave it lock it in the crate.

Mishka only started to chew my wall when we decided she didn't need the crate any longer!!

Big mistake on our part.

Patricia, Lots of alternative things to chew and praise her for chewing them works for me. Giving her something fun to do in the crate and using it as a space she can spend time in when you are concerned.

Hi everybody! Thanks for all the replies. Smile

The problem stopped after I got Jaws neutered... He stopped the chewing a few weeks after the operation and never chewed again ! Smile Jaws also became a lot more obedient and focused. He listens to my commands a lot better now. Smile

Kongs are good, I always find one filled with some bread (brown) and some peanut butter keeps them interested for ages. We never had a crate until we got Flynn and I wouldnt be without it now, also exercise a happy dog is normaly a tired dog and tired dogs I find are rarely destructive.
