He is stunning, is´t he? And such a nice character. He walks perfect heel and does the typical Husky howl. Smile

hubby reckons he was asking to come home with us when he was howling and looking at him, if he gets put up for rehoming think he will be up there like a shot even if he needs to be on medication

Margaret very kindly went up to bothwell bridge today. Luck dogs, this SPCA has a no destruction policy. If the dogs had been taken to a government pound they would have been kept for 7 days.

Unfortunately at this point things are outwith anyones control. The staff told Margaret that the dogs may not even be put up for re homing due to the sandfly issue. There is a incubation period and they are worried that the other dogs may be infected. They are taking the advice from the vet at the moment and we shall just have to wait and see.

if anyone has any ideas about the costings and care would be for a dog that has sandfly and all the kind of ins and outs involved me and hubby would love to know, because if its is possible that dog gets put up for adoption and we could manage financially we would seriously consider homing him. pie in the sky I know but hubby is chewing my ear off.

Margaret, you could speak to your vet. And also ask SPCA if they would release the dog if you signed waiver. After all if the condition is not a concern while the dog is in this country?? it may well be worth speaking to someone in authority at bothwell

its a waiting game and a thought provoking situation that I know should not be entered into lightly, I have been researching into the condition but coming up with more questions. If it wasn't for williams interest I would have my serious hat on Confused

I am soo naughtie, I have been contacting a few breed rescues to see if they can help, even if it is just to phone and ask about these dogs. Hopefully That way these dogs won't get put down without someone fighting their corner first. Might not help or work out but worth a shot. I can see a bann coming on from the sspca but hey hoo

ok here is the script from greek animal rescue, these dogs do not need to be put down, the malamute can be treated, no risk to any other dogs or humans and if anyone takes on the dog they will have the backing of the greek animal rescue in all matters of the disease.
such a fantastic person to speak with glad we have someone like that to help.
