So who has plans for tonight? Anyone going to Glasgow or Edinburgh or further afield?
Quiet night for us this year ............. think it's the first time ever we've been on our own at the Bells. |

nope!
as usual i will bring the new year in in my own home!
in tradition i will lay out a shortbread or two and some cherry bun, raise a glass to those who are not with me for the forthcoming year, shed tears and remember that i have chucked haig out the door 5 minutes earlier!
on welcoming him in i will sob even more and then pull myself together!
car keys in hand i will take haig to collect the girlfriend and duly drop them off to a friends for a party with strict strict instructions to behave himself!
on returning home it will be off to bed! |

I get tearful at new year too ............... I always think of my dad at this time of year especially so I suppose that's why I get emotional.
Well here's to looking forward and I hope that 2008 is a great year for everyone. |

Hope you feel better really soon! Gargle with brandy or whisky and numb the pain!!!! |

I know all my lot had it last week!!
My one yr old niece was in and out of hospital with a chest infection for a couple of weeks there!!
I'm prone to tonsillitis I have it at least once every three months!!!
I feel so sorry for Millie as I can barely lift my head off the pillow and she's dying to play!
Everyone else has gone to London for new year so its just the 2 of us and I'm not fit to do anything! I had to ask my neighbor to take her a walk last night i feel awful for her! _________________ When a dog wags her tail and barks at the same time, how do you know which end to believe? |

Nikki Hope you feel better soon. Its a miserable time of the year to be not well.
We're staying tonight and just having a couple of friends round. Then tomorrow we'll have to be up fairly early because we're off to Dundee to take Granny out for lunch.
Honestly I'm getting to the stage where I could enjoy a few days of salads!!
I hope everyone has a good time tonight and a very happy 2008.

Quiet one for me this year too.
Whilst I was at uni and living in Stirling I always spent it at Stirling Castle. Last year, some friends and I went to Ardnamurchan, up North (its actually the furthest point in mainland britain apparently).... there was approx 6 residents . It was so quiet. No tv, lots of hills, and a beautiful open fire. All very traditional.
Traditional new years' are much better!
I'll be bringing 2008 in with the flu though... so I can completely sympathise with you Nikki.
Hope everyone has a good time, whatever you are all doing!

Quiet night for us too (when we eventually stop scurrying round to to a New Year house clean and polish!) I have got a tummy bug and feel a bit miserable so I can sympathise with the rest of you who are unwell.
It'll be up for the bells , watch a bit of TV then bed for me as I have to be up before 7 in the morning as usual for Cuthbert. Rosie long since chilled out and adapted to our lifestyle. Here's to 2008 may it be a happy year for everyone!! |

It'll be me and Danny and Jack - usually go to my bro's in Warrington but have already been!!!
Hope everyone has a lovely time whatever they are up to and that those who are poorly get better soon. _________________ No one appreciates the very special genius of your conversation as the dog does - Christopher Morley |
