I gave Otto raw mince and he barfed. But he's wasn't used to it I guess.
I'd like to do it, but it's as much as we can do to fit in his exercise never mind remember to defrost meat. |

I am the same Suzanne, I would love to go down that road myself too, but I forget to sort our dinner for Allan to make, never mind the dog stuff
I just cant commit 100% to it yet, tho I feel better even mixing it for them when i do remember to defrost it and the kitten loves it too, Greebo doesnt for some odd reason _________________ lurchers Pixel and Zev and whippet, Fen

Wow this looks fascinating!! Had a quick look at the article on Landywoods and it seems a logical way of feeding. Max loves his veg, cheese etc but being veggies ourselves, might need to have a good think about whether this might be a route we should take. Our dog is mega fussy and doesn't eat as much as he should for his size or will go through phases of only eating cat food. Thanks for this x |

Amanda i was the same. Yoda would only eat the tins for a few weeks. Then i changed to dry she only ate that for a few weeks also. However, when John put her on the raw diet there was no going back. She has been addicted ever since. I could not believe it and this is now over two years down the line. I would defo recommend especially if your dog does not normally eat enough. Its worth a try. |

lol the veggies do find it hard. we changed supplier recently so its alot more hands on, not pre bagged, so i spent Monday morning dicing up a heart and Tuesday cutting up tripe. but the dogs love it. you tend to find alot of fussy dogs become really good eaters. my Gypsy was bad, she still has he moments but has improved alot, though still a skinny wee thing but thats something that has never changed. _________________ microchiping and grooming www.chipnclip.co.uk

Well I bit the bullet this morning and bought a bag of frozen mince so it's in a bowl defrosting ready for Max's lunch. I'm going to mix it in with his complete biscuits and see how he goes. The next time I'm in the shopping centre I'm going to ask the butcher if there is any offcuts etc I can maybe get cheap x |

The mince went down in about 10 seconds flat!! Gave him about 225g at lunchtime and 225g at tea last night. Have just bought him some chicken wings and some liver so need to get preparing that. Am a bit way of giving him chicken bones though cos I thought they were dangerous for dogs to eat cos they shatter??? |

Only cooked bones shatter, raw are fine..........any type of cooked bone should never be given to a dog and that includes the cooked one sold by major pet shops! _________________ John Thomson

He ate 2 chicken wings at lunchtime yesterday but has refused any today. He also took ages to eat liver - I have a fussy dog I think lol. Will persevere, maybe he just doesn't like some of the stuff I have tried but I'm not giving up yet x |

Liver is ver rich, so shouldnt be given too often. my gypsy is fussy to some days she will take chicken wings no problem other times she will just sit and gard it but not eat it. i give my girls their wings frozen as they seem to like them that way,(lol it started as an accident as i had forgotten to bring them out the freezer) i dont know if its the cold they like or the fact that its hard. _________________ microchiping and grooming www.chipnclip.co.uk

Hi Amanda if he turns his nose up at anything I would take it away from him and give him nothing he will get the message that what you put down to him is dinner or hes not going to get anything. I do that with my three and they now never leave an empty bowl hope you win! |
