Dodge and Bob were doing their usual play fighting at teatime tonight. dodge was up on his back legs and bob side swiped him, Dodge let out a loud squeal and seemed to be winded.

all night he has been subdued, refusing even lindsay's pakora, his favorite treat.

he has been limping but we had checked his legs over and he seemed ok.

Lindsay has just taken them out and appeared back two minutes later. Dodge could not get into the boot and when lindsay was trying to lift his back end up Dodge was squealing out in pain.

we have checked him over again and he is crying out when we touch his tummy (around the area of his penis)

If he is no better in the morning, we will take him to the vet. I am hoping this is maybe just a groin strain

Sorry to hear this Kirsty.......I would be more concerned that Lyndsay was prepared to give up some pakora......have you considered taking him to the doctor........

I am sure Dodge will bounce back.......her is strong fit and healthy.........perhaps it is just a strain..let us know how he is in the morning.
i have never known dodge to be unwel!

Hee Hee, Lindsay is scowling at that one Laughing

I know John, Dodge is never ill, and the only time he is vocal that way is when he is growling, even when he split his paw open he walked on in fine and I have never heard him crying out in pain like that. but as you say he is strong and fit.

BTW, lindsay said he will start enjoying training bob when you hold the classes in the smiddy bar Laughing Laughing

Had to leave the Dodger at home for the lunchtime walk today. He still cant get up into the car and when I tried to go near him to lift him in he had a fit. So in the interest of walking away with 10 fingers, I left him be.

I am sure it is just a strain as he is walking about ok and eating ok. The problem with taking Dodge to the vet is he starts snarling and snapping as soon as they go within two feet of him so it would be difficult for them to assess where the problems is.

If there is no improvement over the week-end I will get him to a vet on Monday. When he needs anything other than a visual inspection, they have to sedate him.
