Misty has been pawing at her mouth and chewing her gums at intervals last night, when I managed to get a look, one of her very back teeth are all broken and also a horrible colour.

Now I know she will never manage an op. she is under her weight she is old and a greyhound on top of that, they dont take anesthetics well at best of times, what can they do, im scared.
we have an appt tonight at 5.20 but im worried as to what they can actually do Sad

hopefully that's just what they will do ............. something to relax her and then remove it. Chances are it will be easy to come out anyway. Let us know how you get on. Smile

Gave Misty a treat and after it she was really distressed yawning, chattering her teeth and pawing her mouth, I poked about the rotten slack tooth and out it fell Very Happy instant relief for the old Moo, she looks a bit happier now too blob1

Think I may still take her to the vet, just for a general checkup and weigh and see if there is anything else she needs to keep her comfortable for a while, she does ok but I know she is stiff, tho the collar I got from Margaret has def. helped a lot

Well the vet did a quick check on her, her heart is still good and strong, ok she is nearly blind with the cateracts but overall she isnt too bad, didnt get her weighed, but vet said she wasnt too bad, im sure she must be mr smiths daughter cause he was always telling me they werent thin when I said do you think they need a bit of weight on Laughing

How much does this cost you at your vets, some good sound advice and a bit of reassurance, oh and also to tell me not to bother with antibiotics at the moment her teeth are horrible but as long as she is eating and drinking ok then maybe at a later stage if she is struggling then we can go down that route but not to pump her with antibiotics at the moment when everything is ok

I wasnt charged Smile I did say I love my vets...though even if I had been charged I still feel they are interested in their customers and pets and I respect them for that Smile

I have thought about her all day, Shirley.

Pleased that things sound as hopeful as they can. Your vet sounds as if he is caring and compassionate. You can't ask for more.

Its an Airdrie vet, Acres Vet it was a Peter Smith, previous to him it was his fathers, now it seems to be his daughters, but its her and another girl in partnership and there are 2 other vets, an older woman and a foreign guy and every one of them are fantastic
