When buster comes back from a walk and u think he has peed he then comes in and pees in the same place in the kitchen just like today. we try and use disinfectant to get rid of the smell so he wont go back to it but he still does has anyone got any advice on how to stop this and why he does it because Ralf who is younger is totally toilet trained!! |

sounds like it has just become habit for him Michael.
Perhaps try not letting him inot the kitchen when you come back in, or putting him straight into his crate. Basically avoiding giving him the chance to do it again. Take him outside on lead after a short while to check and see if he really does need to pee again. But when you bring him back in again, avoid letting him have the chance!
Persevering like this might break the habit. |

Can you leave his leash on and correct him when he heads to that spot? It is clearly not because he needs.........maybe a habit that needs broken? He may feel the need to put his scent there arfter is it cleaned with disinfectant? _________________ John Thomson

Michael, If you are cleaning the spot with a chlorine based product it seems to encourage them to mark and remark it.
Good luck. I am going through the house training thing again with Poppy, newly arrived Dane puppy. _________________ Regards,

Michael, cleaning with disinfectant doesn't completely remove the scent, Buster will still smell it. Try spraying with some white vinegar this will break down the enzymes and remove the scent. Though your kitchen will smell a bit like a chippie.

You can also get a spray at the pet shop/Tesco which works - and smells nicer.
I have a nice pee stain in my bedroom - wasn't even Otto, it was my friends dog who ran upstairs and made his mark!!
but on the few occasions he has done it, this stuff gets rid of it, doesnt even sniff the area |
