Thought I'd let you all see web site for Bear's swimming club
http://newfoundlandscotland.co.uk/newsletter.aspx
Can't wait till 30 March (although heatwave would be good) think I need to invest in a dry suit as it can still be cold in wet suit but will have to wait till I can find a cheap one.
As you can see I will also need ideas for fancy dress for him as he loves dressing up. The fun day is hilarious games 11 leg race is side splitting funny Laughing
It is great location for day out and other people who are there taking dogs round the park for walks usually stop by and someone will take them in for a swim Laughing

Sounds like great fun, Jenny. Basil would love it. My fear would be him joining in. He has spent to much time with Keira. He loves water.
Pity it is on a Sunday we couldn't miss training to come.

Lorna, Kendal you can go anytime you want! It is just every 2 weeks on a Sunday that Newfie club are there Very Happy
think Trish is going to bring Kiera this year as she loves the water too Very Happy Smile as for our big boy if you bring him and I'm there I would be more than happy to go in with him as I'll be wet anyway. Or he can swim on his own. If you have wet suit (or are really brave/silly) you can go in too or let Bear practise SAVING you Cool Cool
There is a cafe,bar-b-q facilities and swing park as well as great walks and CLEAN safe water so good place for day out for all the family- human and canine alike!

I swim like a brick so Bear could have a great time saving me. I would love to go on another day.

Lorna it's an amazing feeling when they pull you in when they get close to beach and feet go down you can really feel the power and you move quite quickly! Some clips on you tube of dogs pulling in 16 people at once (among other clips-helicopter one in italy totally amazing) you can see why fishermen used them.
Maybe we can sort another day sometime and you can see how your big boy does who knows he could be first Baywatch GD just need to Trish make him some red trunks Laughing Laughing
