Hello Everyone,
As you know I got Mylo out the vets this morning, the only problem I am having just now is that he isn't eating anything I have tried Chicken, Rice, Cold meat, Fish and even dog treats but he isn't having it... he is just lifeless but the vet has giving me medicine that he needs to take tried just putting it in his mouth and he growled, any advice would be good... how long should I leave it before a take him back if he isn't eating or drinking? |

claire i wouldn't panic just yet!.................remember that mylo has been in the vets for a few days and no doubt been poked and prodded more than he cared for!
give him time and offer little and often! i'm not a great one for milk and you can get puppy milk but even try him with a little milk watered down!.............anything to entice him, but be patient!
see how he is tonight and tomorrow and if you feel a little anxious give the vet a call! _________________ Cockapoo's...a little of this, a little of that..........

Poor wee thing, did the vet say he might not eat for a bit? Is important that he drinks at least. |

Also try some natural yoghurt. This usually worked for Rosie and is is easy to eat. |

Thanks ill try some of this.... The vet said he only ate a small amount last night but he thought Mylo would be better at home as he was down and they thought it was due to missing us and if he was home he might cheer up a little and eat and drink... Ill keep on trying and not panic just yet. |

For some meds it might be useful to try holding his head up and giving him them, then rubbing his throat - he wont be able to help but swallow....
Thats if he doesnt growl at you trying to give him them first though haha.
Janis is right, it'll just be because he will have been put out of sorts the past few days... he'll get hungry soon and eat! Dont worry. _________________ Ashley with Holly & Murphy.

I would just give him a little more time...he is probrably still very sore and unsettled.. Lauren my daughter ( not a dog ) when she had her appendix removed she didn't eat for nearly a week, more so because every time she ate or drank it was so sore not because she wasn't hungry.
Just keep persevering he will get there _________________ Happiness is being loved by 2 Great Danes |

I have puppy milk if you want some. We sometimes use tinned rice pudding to entice them to eat if the danes have been starved or not eaten for a while. _________________ Regards,

we bought a hand blender and mashed up food to feed our last wee dog when she was ill. We put the mashed food in a syringe and put it in her mouth. It did keep her going for a good while. |

Hi Janis, I have to go and collect him at 2.00pm he has kept some kitchen down so now ill just need to try my hardest to nurse him back to health as the vets are baffled as to why he is so down. |
