Well Emily arrived back home from her trek in Morocco this morning ............ plenty war wounds.......... badly blistered feet, broken skin on her shoulders with carrying her rucksack, a cut on her cheek from a mishap putting up a tent! Shocked
But she's back with, more importantly, great stories and a wealth of wonderful memories.
Up at 3am each morning and walking until 10am when the heat was beginning to get too much (42 degrees) having some food and rest then walking again from 3pm until 7-8pm.
Here's some photos - sadly the Sony digital camera she took with her was stolen and she lost all her own photos Crying or Very sad but these were sent from her friend.
We're glad to have her back home and really proud of what she achieved Very Happy All the 15 kids did really well!

Was wondering about her today. What an awful thing for her camera to be stolen Mad

What a wonderful experience, the pics look fantastic, she must be so proud of herself and you and John too must be chuffed to bits, wow Smile

we're both really proud of her Shirley! She did it too with Osgood Schlatters Disease in her knees ...... which causes very painful swelling. She had her anti inflammatory painkillers with her and her Moroccan guide Hassan was always checking she was OK because the fluid around her knees was very obvious when they were bad .......... but she didn't give in. Nor did she choose the easy option of sitting on a mule!
She's chuffed she did it and would do it again tomorrow! (Even though the vegetarian diet was hard for her Laughing )

What she did find difficult was when in a remote village a young girl ran to her and tried to talk to her ............. the little girl hadn't seen a watch before and was asking her what it was .......... Emily got a bit tearful recounting that! I think it hit home how well off we all are here.

So glad she's back - especially in light of the events at Glasgow Airport today. Evil or Very Mad

Razz She must have had a great time. It really is something to be proud of. But what a pity about the camera. I hope she collects lots of pics from her friends. I'm sure she'll want to keep these pics for ever.

It really was an amazing trip, I loved every single minute of it, I would go back in a flash!

Much to my mum's delight, I'm planning on going on the big one that lasts for 5 weeks when I'm in 5th year Very Happy! I know what to expect(ish) lol, getting more pictures off of other people that went on the trip over the next few days, I'll put some more up when I get them Very Happy, I'll be out on the walk on Tuesdays now, so watch out, I'll be there with my rucksack on and my walking poles out. Emily that's looks amazing you look like you had a great time! Bet your tired!
Looks like you've been staying in 5 star luxury accommodation with an en-suit!! ha ha ha
Pics are great! Shame about your camera!
Did you get bitten by the bugs and stuff over there or where they not too bad??
That's the one thing I hated about travelling America, the bugs, spiders and the snakes!!
THeres no need for them! no need what so ever!!
Well see you down the Glen tonight! You can walk in front as Im sure you'll be able to deal with all the lions and tigers and bears that might be in those woods!
After all your hardcore now!!! Laughing Laughing
ah ha ha ha ha!!!
