I've had 2 dogs break toenails. The 1st time it broke fairly deep up, and she had to go away for the day to get sedated so they could perform ans op to remove it. The 2nd time it was only hanging on with a small flap of skin and the vet just tugged it right off (made me wince) then just bandaged it up.
Howd she get on with it? _________________ Parsons Russell fanatic |

Shirley, what a day or two. I hope they both stopped bleeding and you can stop worrying. I have used tea tree gel to stop bleeding when Basil partly ripped off his dew claw. John uses it to stop him bleeding when he cuts himself shaving too. It is useful to keep in the house for emergencies.
Sorry I didn't see your post earlier or I could have brought some over yesterday for you. _________________ Regards,

Well everything is back to some sort of normality now thankfully.
Vet has wrapped Moya's toe up, says to wait and see, sometimes they come out on their own, other times they need a wee op to remove...... we are waiting and hopefully she will be fine have to take her back on Tue if we think she needs to go but vet doesn't want to op if she doesn't need to a wee job of painkiller and that's her for a wee while
Jazz is bright enough but when I went back down tonight about 4 his bed was quite wet and also had blood spots all over, so I had to take him out, re muck out the bed and put him back in but by the time he was fed, hayed and watered the bleeding had went down to a wee drip here and there.....and tonight I checked on my way home from Tesco.... the wounds are a bit more congealed so think he will be fine now _________________ lurchers Pixel and Zev and whippet, Fen

If they cut their claw and it is bleeding lots sticking in flour is meant to help it stop. |

Shirley, glad things are getting better. A glass of that red wine for your health sounds a good idea. _________________ Regards,
