Just wondered if anyone has tried the 'bitch' sprays when their dog is in season. Do you find they work? Are there natural remedies or things that work?
Tala has gone into season, probably why she didn't go APE when she met some of you last week (harlet) and so far so good with Bear We have two stair gates up top and bottom and are living upstairs/downstairs to prevent accidents! Feel that if he wasn't so big she would be happy to oblige him and last year he was like dog possessed by the second week. Trying to climb stair gates in between watching Crufts (dog porn my hubby called it). |

Jenny,
Tess is just out of season. We tried the bitch spray a few times before taking her on a walk, however the boys where still interested, even the older and neutered ones, she was giving them all a new lease of life.
You can get a jab from the vet to stop the season, however this can cause probs in the uterus so not advisable if your considering breeding her in the future. _________________ Parsons Russell fanatic |

I have tried spray and don't think it works either that's why I was wondering if anyone had any advice. I know all about the jag but given her issue with vets not worth it same for getting her dressed. They wouldn't get near her unless drugged and muzzled and not much fun in recovery if you can't help dog due to issues As she is getting old not much point either also she only has one a year so we just live with it.
Marcella she is the only bitch I've had always been dogs. Was hoping someone who is more experienced with them may have ideas because a horny Bear was a nightmare last year! So far he's been OK this year he may get worse as it progresses and then we will Sleepless in Westfield as he cries non-stop at bottom of the stairs she does the same at top-very Romeo and Juliet We just take it in turns to spend time with each dog upstairs and downstairs. |

Hi Jenny
Are you able/willing to put one of them in kennels for a time, or could one of them stay with family/friends?
Kind regards

Lynn she can't go anywhere due to issues, we do separate hols because of her! Would miss Bear too much as i say they've been alright so far this time was just wondering if there is anything that may help if it all goes pear shaped.
Amanda its not that bad unless you have another dog in the house, keep her on lead though when your out so you can keep her away from potential mates |

I now this may sound silly but have you tried swapping there bedding over so they can smell each other??
Not sure if it would work but it might be worth a try. _________________ Happiness is being loved by 2 Great Danes |
