After the joy and excitement of a new baby in the family Fiona had to have her dog Jed put to sleep on Monday. He had taken a bad turn on Sunday. He was 15.

My heart goes out to them.........a happy time now always tinged with sadness.

Sorry to hear that. 15 is a great age and I'm sure he has left you with loads of great memories.

Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

Oh Fiona I am so so sorry!
But just think Jed held on to see your lovely baby princess!!! He made sure she was alright and then decided himself that it was now 'ok' for him to go!!!

So so sorry!

That really is sad news. It must be such an emotional roller coaster.
I reckon if a dog goes on til he's that age he must have been well cared for and had a pretty happy life and that's really what we'd all hope for.

One of my friends has 2 st Bernard's and Ive just found out one of them died a few days ago.
He was a pup at 2 yrs old, he was having seizures and the vet put him on medication and it turns out the wee soul had a tumor on his brain and he couldn't regulate his body temp which is why he was having these seizures!!!
Is it normal practice to put a dog on medication for seizures with getting like a cat scan!!?????
They would just give us medicine!!!! Breaks my heart!!! Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

so sad to hear about both dogs but for the owners remember they are at the rainbow bridge waiting in happiness with all the other dogs. You will see them again one day

lots of love and hugs
