BANK CARD FRAUD!!!!!!!!!!!!

PLEASE BE AWARE!!!!

AFTER AN ENJOYABLE MEAL AT THE CARVERY WITH MY FRIEND I RETURNED HOME LAST NIGHT AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A CALL FROM MY BANK SAYING I WAS TO CALL THEM URGENTLY!

NEEDLESS TO SAY THEY WERE CLOSED UNTIL THIS MORNING!............CALLED THE NUMBER AND GOT THE FRIGHT OF MY LIFE!

AFTER CONFIRMING WHO I WAS ETC AND MY LAST TRANSACTION TO MY KNOWLEDGE £50 QUID WITHDRAWAL IN LARGS MY ACCOUNT HAS BEEN SWIPED OF £800 AND A FURTHER TWO ATTEMPTS OF £1000 ODDS..................THIS ALL STARTED WITH SMALL AMOUNTS BEING WITH DRAWN BY I TUNES SOME DOT COM COMPANY AND CHRISTIAN AID!.................ALL TOOK 1P AND 13P THEN THE BIG ONE HIT!

THE BANK THOUGHT THIS STRANGE AND PUT A BLOCK ON MY ACCOUNT AND CALLED ME!

ACCORDING TO THEM SINCE THE LOSS OF CHILD BENEFIT AND SUCH LIKE MATERIAL THE GOVERNMENT LOST THERE HAS BEEN A SPATE OF THIS AND I AM SADLY JUST ONE VICTIM.

I WILL BE REIMBURSED IN DUE COURSE ONCE THE FRAUD INVESTIGATION TEAM AND CID LIKES HAVE BEEN INVOLVED!

I AM IN PIECES AND GUTTED . I FEEL VIOLATED AND SO oh I swore ANGRY!

SO PLEASE PEOPLE CHECK YOUR ACCOUNTS FREQUENTLY EVEN 3 TO 4 TIMES A DAY IF NEED BE!

SORRY FOR THE RANT! OF TO THE BANK NOW TO HAND THIS CARD IN AND CONFIRM ADDRESS FOR NEW ONE TO BE ISSUED!

oh that's awful Janis, I hope the bank reimburse you quickly.
Our neighbour had the very same thing happen to him around 6 months ago ...... they took £7000 out of his account after firstly taking 2 small amounts of £20 or so. In his case he was contacted by the police who had told him what had happened. The bank had informed them after seeing what they expected to be suspicious behaviour.

It's really frightening and I can understand how you must be feeling.

Oh I completely understand what you're going through, this happened to me early last year! someone stole my details, how Ihave no idea though, they check to see if the account is active by donating £1 to a charity and then they go wild. Hope you get the money back quickly!

I had this with my visa few months ago! Was a bit of a nightmare to sort out! The CID helped me out tho if you have any problems your bank will put you onto them, Hope you get it sorted soon

oh dear... sadly there is only one or two itune style websites that are real.

i am sadly very warey of internet/phone call/post scams... basically you got to trust where you put money... i know ppl who have been scammed and we also look at each penny on bank reconciliations on the business, amazing what gets on there.

ADMITTEDLY I USE THE INTERNET A LOT TO BUY BUT I ONLY USE ONE CARD AN I HAVE TO LOAD THIS CARD UP WITH CASH PRIOR TO SPENDING ON IT!

THE CARD AND ACCOUNT IN QUESTION IS WHERE MY TAX CREDITS GO AND MY FAMILY ALLOWANCE AND I LET IT BUILD UP. I DON'T USE IT THAT MUCH!

HAD MY RANT MY TEARS AND NOW I AM OFF THE THE BANK WITH PASSPORT AND CARD IN HAND TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!

Sorry to hear this. Its terrible.

Since the news of the discs with the data going missing I have thought about opening a new account at the bank.

Your bad news and the other replies of ID fraud is the first time I have heard of it happening to people I know.

Hearing this it makes me think again, about opening that new account.

Oh Janis thats awful. Its happening to so many people these days!
I check my account a lot, and had changed it a few years back to online banking so that I could clock in anytime and check.

I know they need to investigate etc but i think its terrible how long it often takes to get some money back... what if you needed it for mortgage payments, or bills or food or something. Albeit... its happening so regularly now that they are getting quicker at reimbursing folk.

So sorry to hear this Janis... its such a stress!!

WELL JUST BACK FROM THE BANK AND ALL ACCOUNTS CLOSED AND RE OPENED NEW ONES! NEW CARDS OUT IN ABOUT 10 DAYS

SHOULD GET A CALL FROM CID ETC AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS FROM THERE ON!

I AM NOT ALONE AS THERE IS THOUSANDS OF ACCOUNTS DONE DAILY AND SADLY KEEPS THE FRAUD RISK MANAGEMENT TEAM IN JOBS!

THE ACCOUNT THAT IT WAS TAKEN FROM IS ONLY USED FOR CHILD BENEFIT ETC! I DON'T USE IT AS A RULE TO PAY THINGS BUT THE BANK THINKS IT'S THE DETAILS OF ALL CHILD BENEFIT DATA THAT THE GOVERNMENT LOST A FEW MONTHS BACK!
