I would like a little feedback..........

We are intending to do have the West of Scotland dog Training Association come over at some point and those who want to can sit their beginner, novice or intermediate tests.

Obviously there will be plenty of notice given and what you will be required to do will be posted on the forum.

would you be interested in this?

Rather than me do the tests this would mean an outside examiner and official certification.

Let me know what you think.

Sounds good, but I am a little apprehensive. Shocked

I thought exams were a thing of the past. Exclamation

But lets go for it.

Hi John,

Yip Great Idea, whats involved in the Beginner level, would it be too hard for Dexter??? If its too difficult, have you ever had an examiner in to do the Good Citizen Award thing,s.

my first thought is that I don't think I fancy this...

but if we can get a clearer idea of what is involved / required, it might be a little less unappealing!

Am not sure I fancy having someone else testing us tho! They don't work with us and our dogs week in week out... so they obviously won't get that, for example, although Leon is still rubbish at his recall in circuit, he is miles better than he once was! I guess that is the thing that I am not keen on - the exams are about achieving a specific level, rather than individual development.

Fine. So long as we know in advance and we can have a wee practice. Is this like the Road Safety or K.C. or are these different?

i think its a good idea.

although i think i would only do it with Gypsy at this point.

no offense John but i think it is better to bring in a third part to conduct the test, you as our trainer my not be objective enough to conduct the test fairly.

Ok..........everyone will be warned well in advance if this goes ahead..........you know my thoughts on surprise tests.

Everyone would be tested on the things they do week in week out.....the requirements will be posted well in advance............I can assure you the no one will be left feeling un comfortable with this. No one will be asked to try anything that their dogs are not already capable of.

This is similar to road safety tests..........a WSCDTA examiner would be there to ensure that everything is fair and there would be an official certificate for those who take part and pass.

I would be pretty happy to do this... but not in that hall as we all know what Holly is like.... she just freezes. So I would be ruled out anyway.
But I am happy and confident that she can do absolutely everything we cover in class each week. Cool
Thats enough for me! Very Happy

Although I am a geek and do like certificates!!!!! Embarassed
