I have heard of lots of areas in America and some even in England where there are secure parks designated just for dogs to have off leash fun. what do you reckon the chances of Cumbernauld ever getting one. I have an enclosed area I take Sheila too where she can run about in semi safety playing with her ball or Frisbee, its an old football pitch no longer used since langlands primary was pulled down. loads of dog owners take their dogs there but It would be great if the area was maintained and had dog bins. It would be fantastic I reckon if dog owners had these types of parks to exercise and train their dogs. what do the rest of you think?

i think it would be a great idea. We have a problem that most if not all breeders of Siberian huskies say to never ever let them off the lead, as one day something may get triggered in them to just run, and run and run without ever looking back at you, just darting across roads and many have been lost due to this, they could simply be chasing a rabbit or sheep Smile and we wouldn't have much control if he switches into hunting mode. This is what we have been informed to do, most of them will listen to you in obedience classes coming on command but when outside you take a risk with them, which i don't think we would take. we would love to let him off his leash when he is older in a secure park as running is what he loves most so we would like to be able to let him do it. especially if its safe from broken buckie bottles Laughing
