That happened to us - thought the door was closed!
Didn't notice him till he stuck his nose under the covers. |

Gaelle get him out to busy places....we have been taking Luka into Airdrie town centre to get him used to loads of folk looking at him and petting him...the ridgebacks can be very aloof to strangers and can be a bit off with folk so we cant afford to have a fearful or aggressive dog
we really take him loads of places...in the car, into shops he can go to, to parks to meet dogs, to swing parks to meet running screaming children (on lead) in the car and the van, front and back seats, everything we can think of...in the horse word it is called spook busting but basicly same thing _________________ lurchers Pixel and Zev and whippet, Fen

Thanks Shirley and everyone else who replied, I do try to socialise him as much as poss and he is out in the car a fair bit at weekends when M is available. If there are any more local walks coming up I can take him along. Every so often we go up past Tesco where he gets attention from shoppers and he mostly enjoys it. Just he seems to get shy of some men some of the time, yet not at other times.e.g yesterday we met a man who I thought had all the characteristics for him to bolt but no he just leaned in for a cuddle (Cuthbert I mean!). Strange! Still I'll just keep working on it as he should not be doing this at his age. I was so sure I'd socialised him well enough too! _________________ Happiness is watching my dog chase leaves dancing in the breeze. |
