Or anyone else who is good with the camera.

I need help on photographing jewellery, im not sure what type of background, velvet, silk organza to sit the jewellery on and what can I prop up behind it...I have seen stuff photo'd on mirrors but I dont like the double look it gives, you dont know if it is a double stranded necklace tntill you look closely Rolling Eyes

What is better with silver colour and gold colour and dark jewellery and coloured jewellery. Am I better sticking with white or cream or black or dark blue or is it just a case f trying different things

Hi Ross, its mostly either semiprecious gemstones like above or glass or crystal

I just have a wee point and shoot kodak, nothing clever but it takes ok pics. I use auto or close up, I just have basic lighting too, tho bulbs are better than yellow normal ones but I need to inves in a dayglo bulb I think

Have you seen anything on other websites or in magazines that you like? So many ways to light and shoot things.

I would look at other jewelery web sites to get ideas and experiment with different materials etc.
